World Cup Warm-Up Tie: India lose 1-2 to Argentina

The Indian men’s hockey team suffered a 1-2 at the hands of Argentina in a World Cup warm-game at Hague. The 11th ranked Argentineans scored once in each half to seal a morale-boosting win ahead of the big-ticket event. Dharamvir Singh scored the consolation goal for India in the second half.

The match was marked by a serious injury to Indian striker Ramandeep Singh – who severely injured his right eye socket and cheekbone and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he underwent a surgery and remains a doubtful starter for the marquee event.

India will face South Africa in their final practice tie on May 28 before they kickstart their World Cup campaign on May 31 against Belgium.
