National Sub-Junior Women’s ‘A’ Division: MPHA bulldoze Tamil Nadu 25-0


Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPHA) bulldozed Tamil Nadu 25-0 in the National Sub-Junior Women’s ‘A’ Division Hockey Tournament being played in Pune. The goal-hungry MP girls showed little mercy to their opponents sounding the rival board at will. As many as four players – 25 Ishika Chaudhary (5 goals), Preeti Dubey (4 goals, Upasana Singh (3 goals and Jyoti Pal (3 goals) notched up fine hat-tricks.

The match also saw Karishama Singh, Sneha Singh, Nutan Topno score a brace each, while Neeraj Rana, Sadhana Sengar, Suman Thoudam Devi and Neelu Dadiya scored once. In other matches Haryana also posted a massive 23-0 win over Kerala while Karnataka drubbed Chhattisgarh 14-1.

Meanwhile at the ongoing 4th National Sub- Junior Women’s ‘B’ Division Hockey Tournament being played in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, Mizoram hammered Jammu & Kashmir 23-0 while Hockey Gangpur - Odisha routed Puducherry 10-0. In other games Bihar swamped Goa 5-0, Punjab downed Manipur 3-0 while Gujarat decimated Tripura 8-0.

At the National 4th Sub–Junior Men’s ‘A’ Division Hockey Tournament being played in Ranchi, Jharkhand, Odisha clubbed Tamil Nadu 9-1. In other matches Chhattisgarh trounced Kerala 7-1, Bhopal drew Andhra Pradesh 5-5 and Jharkhand edged Karnataka 3-2.
