Hockey India has included the Himachal Pradesh-based HIM Academy as its Academy Member. The move will enable HIM Academy to be part of further activities being organized by Hockey India. It is pertinent to mention that the academy aims to promote women hockey and enhance their involvement in the game of hockey.
HIM Academy, which is based in Solan district of
Himachal Pradesh, is run by HIM Gold Cup Society and has already started plans to
install its own astroturf in the district soon.
The academy currently provides training to 45 boys and 35 girls in the sub-junior category from across the country. The HIM Gold Cup Society has successfully organised the HIM Gold Cup Hockey Tournament wherein they engage top countries to participate in the tournament.
