National Men’s Hockey: Air India, Punjab post easy wins


The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) crushed Andhra Pradesh 7-1, while Air India Sports Promotion Board (AISPB) beat Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) 3-0 in Pool A matches of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men’s National ‘A’ Division Championship being played in Lucknow.

In Pool B Comptroller & Auditor General of India drubbed Madhya Pradesh 7-0, while Punjab humbled Sports Authority of India (SAI) 4-0.

Meanwhile, in the Hockey India Junior National Women's Hockey ‘A’ Division Championship  at the Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Mysore, Jharkhand eased past Maharashtra 6-2 to enter the semifinals.

Defending champions Haryana also joined Jharkhand in the last four stage, outclassing Rajasthan 14-0. In other games, Uttar Pradesh hammered Bengal 9-0 while SAI swamped Tamil Nadu 7-0.
