Argentinean men draw South Africa 2-2, win five Test series 4-0

South Africa’s men’s hockey team played out a 2-2 draw against Argentina in the fifth and final Test, but the result will be of some consolation for the former, who lost the first four Tests.

The red-and-green brigade shot into the lead through Clint Panther before Juan Vilas equalised for Argentina in the 31st minute. South Africa regained the lead in the second half through Lungi Tsolekile, but Argentina restored parity through Lucas Martinez as the match petered out into a draw.

Earlier, Argentina kickstarted the series with a 6-0 win, followed by a 4-2 win in the second Test. The South Americans won the third Test 3-1 before scripting a 2-0 victory in the fourth Test. Argentina produced an encore of their women counterparts, who whitewashed South Africa 5-0.
