Indian hockey goalkeeper Sreejesh blessed with a baby girl

Indian men’s hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh is experiencing ‘happiness’ at home after becoming the father of a proud ‘daughter’. The Kerala lad, who dished out a splendid goalkeeping performance in the 2014 World Cup in The Hague, Netherlands, had got married to former long jumper and Ayurveda doctor Alisha at the Maha Vishnu temple at nearby Kizhakambalam in Kerala in May last year.

The sturdy goal-tender, who is believed to have known Alisha for a long time, became a proud ‘papa’ after the conclusion of the World Cup. His wife Alisa and the newly-born daughter are reportedly doing fine.

The 29-year-old Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) employee is currently attending the preparatory camp for the upcoming Commonwealth Games, where India’s participation is under a cloud after Hockey India cited budgetary constraints as a reason for the likely pullout and has put the ball in the Sports Ministry’s court to do the needful.
