Hockey India to provide hockey sticks to Afghanistan

Hockey India (HI) has lent its helping hand to the Afghanistan Hockey Federation (AHF), following a request from the latter. The country’s hockey governing body has arrived at a decision to send hockey sticks, balls and goalkeeping pads to the war-torn country.

The same was decided at Hockey India’s recent Executive Board meeting. Among other key decisions, HI increased the annual grant for its member state units from Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh. An associate member (non-institutional) will get Rs. 3 lakh and other members will get Rs. 2 lakh each in a year.
