The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) is set
to go through a ‘constitutional’ makeover. The regional hockey body will
consider limiting the tenure of the AHF president to three terms. The same is
expected to be discussed at Asian Hockey Federation’s annual general meeting
(AGM) in Kuala Lumpur on August 31.
It may be noted that Asian Hockey
Federation secretary general Tan Sri P. Alagendra, who is currently serving as
its acting president following the sad demise of Sultan Azlan Shah last month,
is likely to move forward towards reviewing the constitution at its upcoming
AGM.
The AHF president’s term is for four
years. It may be mentioned here that late Sultan Azlan Shah was AHF president
since 1994.
